Bro McFerran

Bro McFerran is Managing Director of Allstate Northern Ireland (formerly Northbrook Technology of Northern Ireland

Ltd.), Northern Ireland's largest IT Company, and employing over 1500 people. He took up his current position in January 1999 when the company set up in Northern Ireland.
He has held previous positions as Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing for IMRglobal Corporation, an IT Outsourcing Corpany, based in Clearwater, Florida. He was joint-founder and Managing Director of Logicom Limited, a Northern Ireland based IT Services company he set up in 1980 and sold on in 1997. He is a shareholder in Relay Business Software, one of Northern lreland's largest indigenous software companies. He was one of the founding board members of the Software Industry Federation in Northern Ireland (now Momentum), and it's second Chairman, and has served on a number of public advisory boards including being a board member of the Information Age Initiative (Leapfrog) and being a previous Chairman of the ICT Forum for Belfast City Council. He is currently a non-Executive Director of the Northern Bank, a board member of the Centre for Software Process Technologies (CSPT) based in the University of Ulster and a Board Member of Springvale Training. He is the President of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce. He is Chairman of the Belfast Workforce Development Forum which is a DEL appointment.

Mr. McFerran was awarded a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List announced on 11th June 2005 for services to the IT lndustry of Northern lreland. He was presented with the Institute of Directors/Lunns Award of Excellence at a Gala Dinner in January 2OO7 . He received an Annual Award of Distinction from Belfast Institute of Higher and Further Education in November 2004 in recognition of his achievements in employment and economic development. Mr. McFerran was awarded the "IT Professional of the Year" award by the Northern Ireland Branch of BCS in 2001.

Mr. McFerran was educated at St. Malachy's College and Queen's University, Belfast where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He is married with three children and lives in Belfast.

Allstate Northern Ireland History & Timeline

Allstate Northern lreland started recruiting in January 1999 and established its first office in Belfast's Corporation Street. The company quickly outgrew that location and moved to its current building at Lanyon Place in February 2002. For strategic reasons, including a large labour pool and growing demand for services, Allstate NI opened a second facility in Derry in August 2001, followed by its Strabane location in June 2004. Currently, the company employs more than 1900 people at these facilities.

2008 - Mike Scardina, Chief Executive of Allstate NI receives OBE for his services to Northern Ireland

2013 - Bro McFerran is appointed Vice President of Allstate Insurance Corporation
